Dr. Annalisa Y. Co
A native to Sacramento, her undergraduate studies began at California State University, Sacramento and finished with a B.S. in Biology with an Emphasis in Cell/Molecular Biology from San Diego State University. After receiving her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, she obtained her surgical residency training at Northlake Medical Center in Tucker, Georgia. In August of 2005, she returned back to Sacramento and has been providing complete conservative and surgical care of the foot, ankle, and lower leg.
Dr. Co is board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS). She lectures nationally as an active faculty member of The Podiatry Institute, a non-profit organization that strives to enhance the quality of life for patients with foot, ankle, or leg disorders through innovative education, research, and service. She is a current member:
- International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS),
- Sacramento Running Association (SRA)
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
- American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS)
- California Podiatric Medical Association (CPMA)
- American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA)
Dr. Co strives to integrate both western and eastern approaches to medicine and healing in her practice. In addition to specializing in the medicine and surgery of the foot, ankle and lower leg pathology, she has a strong passion for sports and dance medicine. She prides herself in treating athletes and dancers using techniques to prevent injury progression and heal while allowing them to continue their activities when possible. She is one of the first foot and ankle specialists to use Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) injections for chronic sports and dance related injuries in the Sacramento area and lectures on the subject nationally.
Dr. Co is married with three children. She enjoys running, yoga, indoor cycling, adult ballet, and spending time with her family. Dr. Co was inspired by her late mother, Consuelo Yu Co, to open Olympic Foot and Ankle.
